Sunday sermon [for 2-10-19]

16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. 1st John 2

NEW [Other videos below]

This Sunday I did teach on the verses from the Catholic Mass for this date [2-3-19] I also taught on some other passages as well.

I added my past teachings that relate in the section below [Past Posts]-

And if I make a video Today [2-10-19] I will post it to my sites later on.

Just a note- some of you see my weekly posts on my various web sites- I usually post 3 times a week to all my web sites [Sunday- Tuesday- Thursday].

But just about every night I post 7 teaching videos to my other sites [Link sharing- Mix- Trello- etc]

I post those videos to my Blog [ www.corpuschristioutreachministries.blogspot.com] then to the other sites.

So you will usually see the ‘1st time’ videos on My blog as well as Facebook and Youtube.

Why so many videos?

These past few years I read up on effective blogging- videos- etc.

You get different advice from well meaning people- but some times the advice is contrary [like how many times to post].

As I was ‘messing’ with my sites this past year- I realized- no matter how many I post nightly [2 videos- 4- or 8]-

Each video still gets the same amount of views- for each one.

Meaning if people simply view what you post- then yes- that's the idea of teaching.

So basically if you post one video a week- so many people view it- and that's it.

If you post 7 every night- well many more people are viewing the videos.

I do realize some people really don’t want to see so many videos- but when I share so many- from various sites- it is getting the word out a lot farther.

Ok- that's it for this update- if you don’t hear from me later today I might do an off the cuff teaching this week.

Thanks- John

Note- This might be helpful for those who engage in the on line ‘teaching world’-

I’ll just make an off the cuff list of the best- and worst sites- from what I have learned the past few years.

VIDEO STREAMING

YOUTUBE- Though the most popular- they have so many daily uploads- it’s easy for a new ‘Vlogger’ to get lost in the masses. I’m grateful for the free platform- but for new Vloggers- I would recommend one of these-

BITCHUTE- New to the scene- but many more views per video. They do have some kinks to work out- but this site arose because of the problems with Youtube [banning- etc].

DTUBE- The same thing with them- they have a bit more kinks to work out then Bit chute- but another alternative to YouTube. [They also use Block Chain tech.]

DAILY MOTION- They have been around for years- and are probably the best overall choice as an established alternative to Youtube.

FLICKR- Also a good site that has been around for a while- but I have trouble uploading every now and then. They also only play the first 3 minutes of your video, then the viewer has the option to download it for free.

FACEBOOK- They really can’t compete with YouTube or the others for video sharing- they do get lots of views from their videos, but they are limited to Facebook only.

I realize Facebook does this for their own benefit- if you click a Facebook Link [ even ad’s for people who pay] you actually have to have a Facebook account to view the link.

I’m not sure all who pay for ad’s realize this.

Either way- they are still good for videos- but not as good as the sites that are strictly video streaming sites.

VIMEO- Ok- they are the ONLY site that ever removed all my videos- on a paid plan mind you!

Now- many churches are fond of Vimeo- and I think they kind of got this niche by word of mouth to be honest.

I have seen some Vimeo ‘church’ sites- on the pro plan [around $350.oo a year] and they have a few videos on the entire site.

Not a good deal at all [a waste of money in my mind].

So- I still have a few on Vimeo- they are geared to high quality videos- but no matter how good a site is- if they have a history of deleting videos on paid accounts- then to me- that's almost fraud, because people actually paid to have those videos on.

I at one time dropped from a paid account to a free one on Wordpress- yet- all my videos on Wordpress are still good- even though I am no longer on the paid plan.

That's the usual policy for most sites-

Yet Vimeo will even deplatform people- while still paying!

So they would rate the last choice- in my mind- for video streaming.

Ok- I was going to list all the cloud sites- and maybe even the different web sites- but I've gone too long.

I might have missed 1 or 2- but that's a brief report from someone who has actually tried them all- and hopefully it will help.
